Pre Care

Look after your investment

Shaved

The treatment area should be shaved completely prior to treatment. Please pay special care when shaving that you do not miss any areas and that you have shaved as close to the skin as possible. Having stubble can cause discomfort and lesson the effects of the light source energy being delivered to the blood supply of the hair follicle.

Fresh

Please come to your treatment freshly showered or bathed with completely clean skin, without lotions, oils, creams or fragrances of any kind.

Avoid UV

Clients who are sunburned must wait 2 weeks before being treated to avoid additional skin damage, if your turn up to your appointment with sunburn you will not be able to be treated and still charged the cost of your treatment.

Although I can treat dark skin and an active tan, I can’t treat sunburnt skin. Please avoid tanning 2-weeks prior. Strictly no tanning product or fresh-deodorant.

Don't touch it

You must stop waxing, tweezing and epilating at least 3 weeks prior to treatment.

  • Please come to your treatment freshly showered or bathed with completely clean skin, without lotions, oils, creams or fragrances of any kind.
  • The treatment area should be shaved completely prior to treatment. Please pay special care when shaving that you do not miss any areas and that you have shaved as close to the skin as possible. Having stubble can cause discomfort and lesson the effects of the light source energy being delivered to the blood supply of the hair follicle.
  • If you are having a Hollywood laser hair removal and would like your perianal to be treated, I recommend using a mirror to ensure you have successfully shaved all of the hairs as this can be a tricky area to get to.
  • Avoid UV exposure to the area that is to be treated for 7 days prior to your appointment.
  • Clients who are sunburned must wait 2 weeks before being treated to avoid additional skin damage, if your turn up to your appointment with sunburn you will not be able to be treated and still charged the cost of your treatment.
  • Avoid sunless tanning products 7 days prior to your treatment. It is recommended that you exfoliate the area to remove any residual colour. If you turn up to your appointment with fake tan on the area that is due to be treated your appointment will not be able to go ahead and you will still be charged the cost of your treatment.
  • If you are concerned about discomfort or feel that you are particularly sensitive you can apply numbing cream 30 to 40 minutes prior to your treatment. However, this is not necessary and I own a state-of-the-art cooling system that minimises any discomfort. Avoid chemical peels and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior and two weeks after your laser treatment.
  • Avoid all alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxyl products (AHA/BHA), hydroquinone, retinols/retinoid, Tazorac, and Differin for 7 days before treatment, if you are having laser on the face.
  • You must stop waxing, tweezing and epilating at least 3 weeks prior to treatment.
  • If you have used Accutane or similar products within the last 6 months please let me know.
  • Do not perform any physical activity that increases body temperature or blood pressure within 2 hours before and after treatments.
  • If you have Botox or dermal fillers in the area to be treated, wait 14 days both before and after injection to receive treatments.
  • Medication can increase photosensitivity. Please bring a list of any medication you are currently taking. If you become ill and begin taking an antibiotic, at any point throughout your treatment please let me know.
  • I keep my room very cool, so please feel free to bring a jumper if you are having multiple areas.
  • I know laser can be quite daunting for the first time especially if you are having intimate areas treated. When you arrive I will ask you to fill in consultation form and then show you to your treatment room where I will ask you to remove the items of clothing needed to assess the area, there will be a basket for you to put your belongings in and I will provide you with
  • some couch roll to cover yourself. When you are ready, I will perform a quick patch test so you can see what the laser feels like and I can check how your skin and hair reacts to the laser. If I need to discuss anything in your medical consultation forms, I will do so, then as long as you are happy- and I am happy to treat you we can commence the treatment.
