Look after your investment
The Shed
Starting from day 14 you’ll begin noticing the small hairs beginning to fall out, this is called ‘The Shedding phase’ .
Limit UV
A lot of heat has been put into your skin, it’s going to be sensitive so avoid UV for at least 1-week.
Avoid Heat
For the next 24 hours post laser treatment, No Heat this includes hot baths, showers, or intense workouts.
Don't touch it
No waxing, plucking or treating while having treatment – if possible avoid shaving for 14 days so you can witness the shed.

For the most Immediately after your laser hair removal session, you will not feel like you’ve had any treatment, sometimes the armpits can feel slightly sensitised for a couple of hours. You can expect some erythema especially where the hair is darker and thicker this is totally normal. For many people, this disappears within a few hours.
Laser hair removal aftercare does not require any complicated routines to follow for weeks after your appointments. This is because laser hair removal is a relatively simple process with little recovery time.
However, it is important that you take time to care for your skin after the procedure. If in particular you suffer with ingrowing hairs, I will discuss with you a regime to follow in-between your sessions for maximum improvement for of your skin tone and texture.
24 Hours following treatment
- Avoid intense exercising such as gym and fitness classes.
- Avoid heat treatments such as hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and hot showers bikram yoga.
- Swimming in chlorinated water is not advised.
- Do not use creams containing bleach or steroids.
- Do not exfoliate or use a peel
- Wear a high factor SPF
- No shaving
Aftercare 14 days following Laser hair removal
- Limit UV exposure
- Avoid waxing, plucking, threading as this will disrupt your hair cycle and effect results
- No depilation creams for same reason as above
- No sunbeds
- Try not to shave- if it’s warm and you will be wearing clothes that expose the skin, I don’t expect you to go au natural, however if you have the opportunity to let the hair grow out until you reach shedding phase this is highly recommended. It gives you chance to see how effective the laser has been and report back to me.
- The hair that has been successfully targeted during treatment will shed from the skin 14 days after treatment (this can sometimes be sooner) the hair will naturally fall out in your clothing or when showering, you can also pull the hairs out with no resistance or use a rubber glove and exfoliate the area. If you are seeing no shed please let me know.
